Die Investition in H\u00f6he von $2,2 Milliarden wird 2.200 gut bezahlte Arbeitspl\u00e4tze im verarbeitenden Gewerbe sichern<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Vision von General Motors (NYSE: GM) einer vollelektrischen Zukunft nimmt immer klarere Konturen an und gewinnt mit einer Investition in H\u00f6he von $2,2 Milliarden in das Montagewerk in Detroit-Hamtramck an Dynamik, wo eine Vielzahl von vollelektrischen Pickups und SUVs produziert werden soll. GMs erster vollelektrischer Pickup soll Ende 2021 in Produktion gehen. Kurz darauf folgt der \u2019Cruise Origin\u201c, ein elektrisches, selbstfahrendes Carsharing-Fahrzeug, das Cruise letzte Woche in San Francisco vorgestellt hat. Detroit-Hamtramck wird GMs erstes Montagewerk sein, das ausschlie\u00dflich der Produktion von Elektrofahrzeugen gewidmet ist.<\/p>\n

\u201cMit dieser Investition macht GM einen gro\u00dfen Schritt nach vorn, um unsere Vision einer rein elektrischen Zukunft Wirklichkeit werden zu lassen\u201d, sagte GM-Pr\u00e4sident Mark Reuss w\u00e4hrend einer Pressekonferenz im Werk mit der Gouverneurin von Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer, und weiteren lokalen und staatlichen Beamten. \u201cUnser elektrischer Pickup wird die erste von mehreren elektrischen Lkw-Varianten sein, die wir in den n\u00e4chsten Jahren in Detroit-Hamtramck bauen werden.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wenn das Werk voll betriebsbereit ist, wird diese Investition mehr als 2.200 gut bezahlte US-Arbeitspl\u00e4tze in der Fertigung schaffen.<\/p>\n

GM wird zudem weitere $800 Millionen in Werkzeuge f\u00fcr Zulieferer und andere Projekte im Zusammenhang mit der Markteinf\u00fchrung der neuen Elektro-Lkw investieren.<\/p>\n

Seit Herbst 2018 hat sich GM verpflichtet, mehr als $2,5 Milliarden in Michigan zu investieren, um Elektrofahrzeuge auf den Markt zu bringen \u2013 durch Investitionen im Montagewerk Orion, im GM-Batterielabor in Warren, in Brownstown sowie durch die heute angek\u00fcndigte Direktinvestition in Detroit-Hamtramck.<\/p>\n

Die Lackiererei, das Karosseriewerk und die Endmontage des Werks erhalten umfassende Modernisierungen, einschlie\u00dflich neuer Maschinen, F\u00f6rderanlagen, Steuerungen und Werkzeuge.<\/p>\n

Das Joint Venture von GM mit LG Chem \u2013 das $2,3 Milliarden in die Herstellung von Batteriezellen in Lordstown, Ohio, investiert \u2013 wird Batteriezellen f\u00fcr die in Detroit-Hamtramck hergestellten Elektrofahrzeuge liefern.<\/p>\n

Ein wesentlicher Faktor f\u00fcr die Entscheidung von GM, sich zu Detroit-Hamtramck zu bekennen, war die Unterst\u00fctzung, die dieses Projekt vom Bundesstaat Michigan erhielt.<\/p>\n

\u201cDie Unterst\u00fctzung durch den Staat Michigan war ein Schl\u00fcsselelement, um diese Investition m\u00f6glich zu machen\u201d, f\u00fcgte Reuss hinzu. \u201cDiese Investition tr\u00e4gt dazu bei sicherzustellen, dass Michigan das Epizentrum der globalen Automobilindustrie bleibt, w\u00e4hrend wir unseren Weg in eine elektrifizierte Zukunft fortsetzen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Detroit-Hamtramck arbeitet derzeit im Ein-Schicht-Betrieb und baut den Cadillac CT6 und den Chevrolet Impala. Im Werk sind ungef\u00e4hr 900 Personen besch\u00e4ftigt. Wie bereits best\u00e4tigt, wird das Werk ab Ende Februar f\u00fcr mehrere Monate stillgelegt, w\u00e4hrend die Renovierungsarbeiten beginnen.<\/p>\n

Das Werk hat seit seiner Er\u00f6ffnung im Jahr 1985 mehr als 4 Millionen Fahrzeuge gebaut. Die Stundenl\u00f6hner in Detroit-Hamtramck werden von der Gewerkschaft UAW Local 22 vertreten.<\/p>\n
