Rolls-Royce Opens New Vocational Training Center In Friedrichshafen

Rolls-Royce a ouvert un nouveau centre de formation professionnelle à Friedrichshafen. Le centre, qui s'étend sur une superficie de 2 800 mètres carrés, sera utilisé avec effet immédiat pour doter les apprentis de l'entreprise de compétences de pointe dans l'ensemble des 18 domaines de formation. Au total, un million d'euros a été investi dans l'aménagement des installations et l'achat d'équipements modernes tels qu'une imprimante 3D industrielle et un système d'automatisation, permettant aux stagiaires de travailler avec de nouvelles technologies.

“ Nous avons investi massivement dans notre centre de formation professionnelle de Friedrichshafen, en le transformant, en l'agrandissant et en l'adaptant aux besoins de formation de demain ”, a expliqué Andreas Schell, PDG de Rolls-Royce Power Systems, ajoutant : “ Une formation durable est également un élément essentiel pour la mise en œuvre de notre stratégie d'entreprise PS 2030, alors que nous effectuons la transition d'un fournisseur de moteurs conventionnels vers un fournisseur de solutions intégrées. Nous poursuivrons la formation en interne des spécialistes qualifiés dont nous aurons besoin pour l'avenir. ”

“One special highlight in the training center is the new 3D printer. In addition to apprentices and sandwich degree students in various disciplines, the facility is also used by both Production and Development, making it a place where information and insights are shared across the company,” said Martin Stocker, head of MTU Apprentice Training at Rolls-Royce. “Major investment was also being made in electronics training, with a new automation system and a collaborative robot making it easier for trainees to understand and improve digital production processes. This will prepare them for the challenges of digitalization in manufacturing industry, which is known as the Smart Factory revolution,” Stocker continued.

100 years of vocational training

The opening of the new training center marks the end of a year of events celebrating the centenary of MTU Apprentice Training. The predecessor company Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH was the first business in the Lake Constance & Upper Swabia area to set up a permanent training workshop with its own factory school in 1919. Since then, some 8,000 young people have begun their careers with MTU apprenticeships.

En tout, la division Power Systems de Rolls-Royce forme des personnes dans un total de 13 disciplines industrielles et commerciales, ainsi qu'à cinq cursus en alternance. Outre les apprentissages particulièrement populaires en mécanique industrielle et en mécatronique, cette année a vu les premiers apprentis et étudiants commencer leur formation en informatique. Power Systems aide les jeunes à débuter leur carrière non seulement à Friedrichshafen, mais aussi sur cinq autres sites en Allemagne, en Norvège et aux États-Unis.
