Electrify America, the largest open Hyper-Fast charging network in the U.S., and 4 Gen Logistics, a leader in sustainable freight transportation, announced the opening of a charging station at the Port of Long Beach, California, to support 4 Gen’s expanding fleet of zero-emission class 8 drayage trucks. The facility featuring 30 Hyper-Fast chargers – capable of speeds up to 350 kW – will enable 4 Gen’s fleet to efficiently run multiple daily shifts between the Inland Empire and Port of Long Beach.
The infrastructure is part of Electrify America’s broader initiative to reduce tailpipe emissions in the Southern California region, particularly around the critical Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles; Phase one includes 44 chargers across Rialto and the Port of Long Beach.
The first phase of the project is funded in part through Electrify America’s $25 million “Green City” investment , which focused on Medium and Heavy Duty electrification projects in Long Beach and the Wilmington neighborhood of Los Angeles.
